Tapas at Julian Serrano in Las Vegas

024

The yogurt parfaits at Bouchon Bakery were so delicious. Crunchy granola with currants, vanilla bean yogurt and fresh berries at the bottom. It was the best breakfast I've had in Vegas! (Well, the best healthy breakfast!)

We went to the gym at Canyon Ranch inside of the Venetian. I wish I had brought my camera. It was lovely. I ran 4 miles on the treadmill in 55 minutes. I rarely workout while on vacation so I was pretty pleased with myself!

025

After the gym, we walked to Aria since we didn't get a chance to check it out last time.

Isn't that restaurant cool looking?

026

We headed to Julian Serrano for some tapas and sangria.

028

The sangria was fantastic. We got a pitcher of it.

029

First up, toasted bread with manchego cheese. It was like bruschetta only more delicious!

030

Lobster with molecular pineapple. The seafood-phobe in me balked at this but I tried it and enjoyed it. It tasted more pineappley than fishy anyway!

031

Gambas! Shrimp with a buttery garlic sauce.

032

Fried potatoes with a spicy tomato sauce and bechemel. um, holy creamy deliciousness? You know this wasn't low-fat!

033

Dates stuffed with almonds, wrapped in bacon and deep fried. Honestly, they were heaven. I'm going to have to buy some dates!

034

Chicken croquetas. These were VERY good.

035

Huevos over french fries with chorizo. I have never tried runny eggs before this. They were so buttery and delicious, I have been missing out!

036

037

038

Serrano ham.

039

And more ceviche.

We were full after this meal but not uncomfortably so. Splitting the tapas between four people definitely helped. Plus we took our time with the meal and enjoyed every bite.

040

Then we walked it off. This is the Bellagio. I love the floral displays they do!

043

It was super windy in Vegas so we didn't get to relax by the pool which was a bummer. But it was nice weather for walking around. Hopefully I burned some of those calories off!

I'm interested in starting a Body for Life challenge. In fact, I just ordered the book off Amazon. Have any of you tried it? Janetha, Mama Pea and Em have inspired me to try it out!

I love tapas, as long as the people I share with like what I like and don't steal my food! It seems to satisfy lots of different tastes!

Great job on the run too!

I haven't done BFL- too many rules for me, but I do like some of the principles!

I want to go to Vegas just for the food!! It all looks incredible!!

Body for Life has been great so far!! I really enjoy the way I'm eating. Not gonna lie, the workouts are HARD, but that's just me. I'm not very strong despite working out for years. I'm struggling to lift 8 pounds right now. BUT, I have seen some progress in the past 2 weeks. I don't know if I've lost any weight, but I think I've lost a couple inches and I feel a bit tighter.

Happy Friday!! :)

I haven't been to Las Vegas in more than a year but I am not inpsired to take a trip. I forget how fabulous the hotels and food are. I saw your pics of the Venetian (sorry I am catching up on my Google reader) and I realiezd how much I LOVE that hotel.

Did you get to check out Encore or the City Centre area? I hear both of those places are amazing.
