Wedding Dress Weight Loss

I'll be honest. My wedding dress weight loss plan isn't working out as well as I had planned. I haven't been working out nearly enough so I'm not burning off the calories that I'm eating. Bah! With only 113 days left, I'm starting to feel the stress! I need my arms to be ripped! (Or at least more toned!)

I struggle with weight loss because I tend to give up on myself too easily. I don't have a ton of time to dedicate to working out so I try to do short but intense workouts. I'm not sure if that is the answer.

So I turn to you, dear readers!

Do you think I can safely manage to lose 20 pounds by July 5th? Truthfully I have about 30-35 pounds to lose but I don't think I can lose that much by July!

I'm off to run/shred before it's too late! ARGH!!

Any advice you guys have would be greatly appreciated!

I definitely think you could safely lose 20 lbs by July but maybe instead of that, you shouldn't put a number on it? Just take things one day at a time and eat your best and workout. Sometimes we can lose sizes and inches without losing actual weight in pounds. You also have to stop being so hard on yourself and believe you can do it, that is the biggest thing. I finally lost weight because I finally got the mental part right.

How many calories a day do you eat? Sometimes we can eat too little and that leads to no loss or even sometimes weight gain. For weight loss, I usually try to eat my body weight x 10 (so if I'm 150 that's 1500 calories a day), and for maintenance, my body weight x 13.

Good luck, we're here for you! :)

Yes, you can! Thats about 14 weeks, only 1-1 1/2 pounds per week, you can sooo do it. Congratulations on your wedding. Nice to meet you. You have a nice blog with lots of good stuff!!

Amanda, you can totally do that. Seriously, for reals. But it will take some dedication and serious motivation. When I first started losing weight and exercising more, food blogs totally helped me. I saw people eating real food and living life yet still maintaining a healthy lifestyle. My advice is to look to them for some support and motivation. I can point you towards some really great food blogs if you want. :)

I would shoot for 1-2lbs per week. Just know that if you are stressed with work/wedding planning you won't lose the weight as fast.

I had lofty goals for losing weight on my day but didn't achieve them b/c I was stressed to the MAX - jobless, living situation was horrendous, planning for the wedding - ugh! combination of factors - plus all my friends wanted to celebrate, so we kept celebrating for months leading up to the wedding!

I would def make sure you get 8-9hrs of sleep DAILY. I read a study somewhere that showed women who were getting 6-7 hrs of sleep, increased their sleep to 8-9hrs and lost 5lbs w/o even trying - one girl lost 15 lbs and didnt change a single thing about her eating habits or exercise!!!

sleep is mucho important! hope this helps! that being said, I think you can totally make your goal!

I am not an expert at all, but I think you CAN do it!!!

From my experience, i would say focus on fresh, whole foods, and keep lots of healthy snacks around. Also, don't skip a single workout. i know you are probably crazy busy, but even 20 minutes every morning could make a difference!

And know that no matter what you are going to look gorgeous.
