Arms and Abs Day

So last night, I decided to work against my knees. I got on the treadmill and just walked for 25 minutes at an incline. I figured it would be safe for my knee and still burn some major calories at the same time. Eventually walking got boring so I ran a little bit too. Then I did 15 minutes on the elliptical, stretched and called it a day.

My knee hurt so bad it kept me up all night. So I'm going to make a doctor's appointment. I'm pretty sure the doctor is going to say that I need to rest and lose weight because my knees can't handle the pressure of running with all that extra weight. Blah...

So I declare today, "Arms and Abs Day." I figure I can work out my flabby arms and my gut without bothering my WITCH of a knee cap. We'll see.

005

Last night I took these (best canned refried beans in the world!)

006

This. (yellow squash and zucchini)

007

Several shakes of the HOT stuff.

008

And made a big egg scramble using 3 eggs. (This served both me and Andy.)

009

And made breakfast for dinner burritos. I just added sour cream and salsa to the egg scramble and refried beans. It was so good! And filling.

010

and I added half of a crumbled up burger for the other night for protein. I'm gonna need it after today. I plan on pumping some serious iron after working today. What are you favorite arm or abs moves?

001

My sister Sarah who I love dearly, brought me some cupcakes.

002

And not just any cupcakes, Sprinkles Cupcakes!

003

One red velvet and one chocolate peanut butter.

004

Andy and I split these while watching Dexter Season 3. The chocolate peanut butter was fab and totally worth the calories. But the red velvet tasted artificial and gross. Must be all the food dye or something.

Thanks Sarah! Check out Sarah's dating blog here. See? I told you I would link up to you!

As for now, I'm on my way out the door to sub for an elementary school. I'm only subbing a partial day and I have NO idea what grade, what to do or what to wear. I am semi-stressed.

Just don't make me watch that bloodborne pathogen video ever again. PLEASE

What a great meal! I love refried beans!!! So sweet of your sister to bring you those cupcakes- bummer that the one tasted artificial (hate that!). Take care of that knee. Rock those weight workouts :) Do a search on Lesmills.com- you may be able to find some les mills classes near you! They're always expanding to new clubs

We'll have to have a sister's date to Sprinkles sometime. You can order frosting shots. Yes, literally just a shot of frosting! Ridiculous :)

Emily- you don't like beans? Do you like eggs? I'm not a huge meat fan myself actually.

The breakfast burrito for dinner is a great idea - it looks tasty. The cupcakes are beautiful, it's too bad the red velvet one tasted terrible.

That breakfast burrito meal is totally my kind of dinner! Looks great!! :) Ohhhhh, and the cupcakes are darling!! I bought my mom some Sprinkles cupcake mix from Williams Sonoma for Christmas.

Hope you find out what's wrong with your knee and it's an easy fix. Sometimes just taking it easy for awhile and doing some stretches is enough to solve the problem.

That's the first time I've heard of Sprinkles Cupcakes. Are they famous in the LA area? Have you tried babycakes yet? highly recommend if you want guilt-free snacks, but be prepared for high price!

LOVE your eggy tortilla!

How much do you stretch? That can be a major factor in having knee pain. I've had pain for a while now and the past week I've been using a foam roller twice a day and I have to say it is making a difference. Trainers and running enthusiasts also recommend LOTS of stretching and using a foam roller. Hope this helps!
