I don't wanna

I am so tired today. I had the hardest time sleeping last night. I am one of those people who needs eight hours of sleep a night to be decent. I rarely achieve this goal. (More than eight hours of sleep is not a good thing either.)

I'm training myself though. My new 5:30am wake up time is not loved or appreciated. My morning routine is pretty nutty too. The alarm goes off. I tell Andy to let me sleep for "5 more  minutes" and toss and turn trying to convince myself that early mornings are a good thing. Eventually I convince myself to get up, spend one hour flat-ironing my hair so I don't look insane, chug some coffee and drive to work. (Andy makes me coffee daily, he is an angel for doing this. I still have no idea how to make coffee.)

008

Because I am tired and we are running low on groceries, I decided to klss. (Keep lunch simple stupid!) I microwaved 1/2 cup of edamame.

009

This Kashi meal (I bought a 4 pack at Costco for a great price. Mama said we'd have days where we wouldn't want to cook. Mama knows best.)

010

Yum!

011

I mixed the edamame with the Kashi meal, added sliced granny smith apples and some grapes and called it healthy.

012

I am in love with Kashi's pilaf. I'm not a big fan of rice or pilafs either so this is saying something. It's nutty, chewy and filling.

013

This sriracha seriously improved the meal. My mouth likes to be on fire.

Do you ever eat frozen meals because you're too busy or too lazy like me? Do you jazz them up somehow?

Also am I the only person alive who has a rough time eating apples (aside from honeycrisp. I love those.) I swear the texture bothers me so much. I can only eat apples if they are sliced. Weird?

Breakfast on the patio

This morning I slept in (yay for my first night with no coughing!) and decided to have breakfast on the patio.

001

I bought this little coffee table months ago on sale at Target but we never seem to eat outside. It's a nice patio and the table is nicer than our dining table (which we never use BTW!)

002

I want to love Kashi Go Lean crunch but it hurts my teeth. I usually pair it with creamy yogurt to soften it up a bit. It's much more enjoyable this way. I measured out my serving and it's a little less than 1/2 cup. I can't each more than that. This is the only cereal I don't binge on.

003

Fresh raspberries. There is nothing better. I remember growing up and playing in my Nana's backyard with my cousins. We discovered a raspberry and blackberry bush and ate them until our faces were covered in juice. Then we played vampires. This is another story entirely.

004

I found a $2 off coupon for this new flavor of Naked Juice and decided to drink half of it with breakfast this morning. I figured I could use all the superfood I could get with this illness lingering.

005

I won't lie to you...the addition of chickpeas and 91! corn kernals kind of bugged me out. I smelled it first. Kind of smelled like beets.

007

Then I poured myself a glass. (1/4 of the bottle)

008

It looks like beets. It tasted like chalky tomatoes and sweet berries. I couldn't stomach it. It wasn't necessarily bad but the texture got me. I'm going to add this to my next smoothie and see if that goes over well. I'm too chicken to drink it straight up.

006

With the raspberries and kashi, I had this amazing vanilla bean greek yogurt. It's expensive at $1.69 a cup but so worth it. 12 grams of protein too! It's funny because normally I don't love vanilla flavored yogurts but this one I love. The little specks of vanilla bean make it.

Eating breakfast outside was such a nice change of pace for me. I actually managed to score a sub job tomorrow (the last day of school) so I figured I might as well take some time for myself. I'm taking it easy with the workouts, sleeping in and lazing around. I don't want to be sick tomorrow! Hopefully the 2 a day antibiotic/inhaler plan works out for me.

I finally got my eyebrows done and I can't wait to show you. I went to the spa at Coldwater Creek and can not gush enough about the experience. My eyebrows are a mess ever since I tweezed the hell out of them in high school and I'm slowly trying to get them to a more natural shape. Drives me nuts.

2 questions for today.

1. Do you fill your eyebrows in with a shadow or pencil? I might need to start. Fill me in!

2. Do you like fruit/veggie juices. Normally I do but today's juice was blech.

June Goals and Biz's 101 day Challenge!

Dude. I am so over being sick. SO OVER IT! Phlegm, cough, headache, congestion, body aches and whiny Amanda be gone! Now Andrew has it too. LOVELY!

I call Andy--Andrew from time to time.

001

Andy made us coffee this am and I was super grateful. I had to work a preschool graduation at the Spanish Immersion school today and I need coffee. My Spanish is awful by the way. Mara you should teach me!

002

I had some Kashi Go Lean Crunch (Honey & Flaxseed) with a raspberry Chobani, banana and some strawberries that were on their last legs. I love Kashi Go Lean but I swear I'm going to break a tooth on them one day.

003

I bought 2 flats of organic and local strawberries last week and feel too guilty throwing them out. Hopefully the few I have left will taste okay in a smoothie.

I am currently doing Biz's 101 Day Challenge! My goals are;

■ Run 75 miles in 101 days
■ Eat out less – down to a minimum of 1-2 times a week
■ Make desserts that are less than 300 calories
■ Strength train with workout videos 3 x a week using 8-10 lb dumbbells instead of the 5lbs I use now!

I gave myself a goal of 50 miles ran in May but only got to 42! I'm hoping to step it up. I signed up on DailyMile to track my mileage. Are any of you on there?

043

I cannot believe it's been a year since this!

067

With my friend Tiffany, she lives far away and I miss her lots!

I want to wear my wedding dress again...to marry the same guy of course!
