We'd love each other more if we were in Napa

haha. Andy and I are sort of obsessed with going to Napa and asking Thomas Keller to move in with us. I never said anything about us being normal. In fact, we are quite strange.

Andy and I are going to a blogger meet up today with Sophia and I am quite excited about it!

001

Let's talk about perfect couples now, shall we? This whole wheat roll, carmelized onions, turkey, spinach, sundried tomato aioli and avocado sandwich was perfect. I truly believe that avocado and turkey are a match made in heaven. Have you ever ordered a sandwich at Whole Foods? It's a worthwhile investment for sure.

002

And to think, I thought my sandwich was perfect...Andy's roast beef and arugula was out of this world good.

003

At Whole Foods, I picked up a Blackberry Wallaby Yogurt. Normally, I'm crazy for the "perfect couple" of granola and yogurt but this yogurt was too thin for my taste. Give me greek yogurt anyday!

005

006

The kind folks over at Jay Robb sent Andy and me some protein to try out. We ran a "practice" 5k at the park and definitely needed some protein to help our muscles recover. We chose the vanilla whey protein for today.

007

I made us 2 big shakes using almond breeze (unsweetened vanilla), frozen peaches, strawberries, one whole banana and 1 packet of Jay Robb Vanilla Whey Protein.

008

I'm thrilled to tell you that this protein shake wasn't chalky at all and tasted like heaven after a 3.5 mile run. I was in love. Now I can see why other bloggers rave about Jay Robb! I can't wait to try the other flavors. Whoop!!!!!! Seriously...it's the best tasting protein powder I've ever had!

Do you know of any "perfect couples?" Tell me about them. I'm always down to try out new things.

Have you tried Jay Robb's protein before?

Remodeling and a giveaway sneak peek!

ugh. My knee is hurting REALLY bad today. It's so frustrating!

001

I tried some of Yoplait's plain greek yogurt today. It was delicious! I was shocked that I actually enjoyed plain yogurt. Not to say that I didn't add a ton of fruit & granola to it...

002

Cause I did. Andy bought this granola the other day. It's good but it's no Nature's Path Pumpkin Seed Granola.

003

I had my yogurt with granola, a banana and some blueberries. It was delicious. I didn't miss the added sugar in my usual fruit-flavored greek yogurt. I might have to try eating plain more often.

I had half of a Naked Juice Green Machine on the side. Drinking green stuff is awesome.

004

The people at Aurorae Yoga sent me a yoga mat to review. I was sooo excited when I opened up the package and discovered that they sent me a violet mat. Purple is my absolute favorite color! Are they psychic? I was thrilled! I've been needing a nice, thick yoga mat for my stupid knees.

005

006

I love how long it is! I've never had a mat that was this long. They are 72 inches long if you are curious. It was fantastic for a 20 minute session with Jillian Michaels.

007

And the padding is so sturdy. It's nice for push-ups and planks. I no longer feel like my wrist is going to crack against my hard floors. I am pretty much in love.

I couldn't do a full workout today because my knee was being a big baby, but I hope to try something out tomorrow. Stay tuned...I might just have a giveaway in store! ;)

I'm off to make a hugeeeeeeeeeeeeee salad and go to 6 hours of school. Have I mentioned how much I dislike Wednesdays? Thank you Aurorae for brightening up my day a little bit! Can't wait to use it more! Hopefully tomorrow!

Edited: I forgot to talk about remodeling! Duh!

I have been wanting to remodel our bedroom. Right now it's just a mess. We bought a new bed in August and none of our other furniture matches. It's driving me insane. I plan on doing a full remodel over Spring Break. Do you guys have any tips for making my bedroom beautiful? Pictures or links are welcomed!

a decent day

Yum! I started today off right with a yummy pluot. I have an addiction to pluots and have been eating one daily. (I bought a 12 pack at Costco!)

Love the "freckles." I wish I could find pluot year round but I only seem to find them during the summer. Bummer dude!

I had an extra foamy nonfat latte. Am I weird for enjoying these without any sweetener? It's a good thing too because I really need to cut back on the sugar.

For lunch I made a yogurt bowl. I bought some yoplait at Costco. I kind of wish I waited for greek yogurt. 14 grams of sugar in 1 container of yoplait!!! I added in granola and blueberries.

I also had half a veggie burrito. This burrito had pinto beans, broccoli, zucchini and carrots. Not my favorite but not the worst either. I was happy with myself for portioning half for dinner last night and half for lunch today.

All together now.

YUM! This truly is the best way to eat yogurt. Even if it's sugary, runny yoplait yogurt :)

I feel decent about today. Hopefully tomorrow goes over well

over the hump

I was semi-productive today. I cleaned our apartment a bit and worked on some stuff for our wedding. I made a wedding website for my out of town guests to peruse and booked the DJ. I have plans to attend another bridal show this Sunday with my mom so I’m considering myself done for a bit.
Hopefully I’ll find a florist, officiant and a cake by the end of this month. Hopefully. My best friend is taking me to go look at dresses tonight. I’ve been avoiding it due to my recent weight gain but I probably should go. It’s not like I am going to buy anything anytime soon!
Not working today gave me so much more free time to catch up on my to-do list. It’s been overwhelming me lately.
humpday 001
Breakfast was blueberry yogurt with blackberries and bananas
humpday 002
I loved the granola addition yesterday so I added some to the mix. I love Bear Naked Fit Vanilla Almond so I tried some of that. I’d estimate this bowl at about 250-300 calories. I used half a banana, 10 blackberries and 1/8 cup of granola.
humpday 003
Lunch was a grilled cheese with light wheat bread (45 cals a slice) and extra sharp white cheddar cheese. Plus a scoop of homemade hummus with carrots and grape tomatoes. I finished off a bag of sea salt pita chips just because I needed something salty. Dessert was 4 white fudge covered pretzels.
humpday 004
Something is up with my camera…it just sucks lately. Maybe I’ll ask for a new camera in the wedding registry. LOL.
Anyway I’m off to be more productive! I have a lot to do to prepare for school starting on January 20th. Yikes.
