Brownies and Glee!!!

I had a craving for brownies today! I searched my recipe books for a low-fat recipe but couldn't find anything. So I just made my own!

I used 1 cup sugar
4 egg whites
2 whole eggs
1/3 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup chocolate chips
6 oz nonfat vanilla greek yogurt
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt

The brownies came out delicious! They weren't super fudgy but they were pretty good. Next time, I'll try adding pureed pumpkin!

Of course I served myself a brownie with some sangria! It's all gone now!

YUM!!!!

Can you believe that most of the brownie recipes I found asked for 3 cups of sugar? DUDE! I cut mine back to 1 cup and it was fabulous!

The moral of my story is: don't be afraid to throw the recipe book away and make it your own! I used ww's website to calculate points but lots of websites offer recipe builders. My brownies were 3 ww pts each. Not too bad!

I could totally go for a brownie right now :( suppose a chocolate vitamuffin will have to suffice.

girl~ the BEST healthy brownies I have EVER eaten were VERY low sugar too. Look on Happy Herbivores site(kaths links). They are soooooooo nummy!

They are called: Black Bean Brownies...sound icky but the exact opposite.

Ooo, Brownies and wine. Could there be a better combination?

I've heard that adding pumpkin in brownie batter is awesome. I love adding pumpkin to just about anything so I'm sure it has to be good!

I highly recommend the black bean brownies as well! You cannot taste the beans and it definitely adds some fiber :) I've never tried a full recipe but I've just pureed 1 can of black beans and then added it to a dry mix. No eggs, oil or anything else!
