More Foodbuzz Festival Stuff

001

The final blogger dinner was held in a warehouse!

002

I've never eaten dinner in a produce warehouse before so I was interested in seeing how it would go.

003

The bowl of carrots and parsnips. At least I thought they were parsnips but I don't remember eating any.

006

Each table had a basket of shrimp chips on it. I wasn't a fan. But don't judge me too harshly!

007

009

Glass of wine #1

010

Aisles and aisles of food bloggers with wine. Dangerous!

011

The husband with wine.

014

And an empty glass. Naturally.

015

Posing with the produce.

018

Signs with food/cooking quote like this were all over the building.

019

023

1st course. Pickled veggies. I loved the broccoli.

026

A pathetic attempt at using chopsticks. I am clueless.

028

029

Tentacles. I stayed away from the fishes but definitely enjoyed the noodles.

030

Food bloggers in action.

034

How do I use these things? Seriously? Fun fact about me: I cannot for the life of me correctly hold a pencil. Luckily my penmanship is decent.

035

Andrew enjoyed the grilled calamari.

043

The best brussel sprouts I have ever had!

044

Beef cheeks, carrots and potatoes. I admit the sound of "beef cheeks" really got to me. But Kelly explained that they were delicious so I trusted her judgment. Man, I'm glad I listened to her. They were so good!!! Tender, juicy and yum! (I apologize if I just grossed you out.)

045

More beef cheeks.

046

Then came dessert, rice pudding with fresh pears and a cookie crumble. We ate the pudding while waiting to hear who won what foodbuzz award.

048

I loved these pears.

053

I really tried to get good pictures of the awards but my camera fails in dim lighting. Here is a picture of Tina from Carrots N Cake and Jenna from Eat Live Run accepting their awards.

056

Ryan the girl is so adorable.

057

More winners!

I wish I had taken more pictures! Overall a great night. I really wish you all had been there!

Foodbuzz Day 2

So, you saw breakfast at the Ferry Building. After an hour or so of relaxing, Amanda and I made our way to the Metreon for the giant tasting event.

As you can see, the masses are hungry. Ravenous foodies can't let velvet ropes standing in the way of their food.
055

The first booth we stopped by was the Nature's Pride booth, where some lucky bloggers got to demo recipes. Brandi was showing off her Pumpkin French Toast. Yumtastic!

056

YUMTASTIC!!! Is pumpkin the new bacon? Everything is better with pumpkin.

057

Next up was delicious mini cupcakes. Cuppiecakes are my second best friend, next to cookies. Red Velvet was in order.

060

066

What is a great chaser for cupcakes? CEVICHE? Scallops, shrimp, and octopus. Amanda did not indulge. I did. It was pretty tasty. No wonder my stomach is in knots today. Too much food mixing.

064

Next up was a tasty pork and beef meatball.

071

Hooray Beer! There were three different breweries present, all with delicious adult beveragers. The first up was a Pilsner. You can't tell, but this is me happy.

075

Rogue Brewery from Oregon was there as well. Amanda and I always sampled from delights from 21st Amendment Brewery. I went with the IPA. Amanda had the Watermelon Wheat. The IPA was fantastic. My favorite of the day. Not too hoppy. Wonderful. I'm not a big wheat beer fan, but the Watermelon Wheat was good. Amanda enjoyed it and it seemed to be a big hit. I couldn't handle wine tasting on top of beer, so I didn't. Too bad, considering half the venders were wineries.

091

092

Beer in a wine glass? FOODBUZZ FAUX PAS AMANDA! I am surprised you weren't removed from the venue immediately. Get out the tar and feathers.

094

And what goes best with beer? Pretzels! Some amazing pretzels from Vibrant Flavors. Best thing about these was they had big flavor without being coated in salty flavoring. You don't get cheeto fingers. And yes, it says maple bacon. OMGOMGOMG!

087

Fantastic hot sauce from the All Spice Cafe. Amanda and I both loved the logo, which is the owners face with various chili peppers for eye brows and facial hair. Brilliant. I love hot sauce. I don't leave home without Tapatio. Is tapatio popular elsewhere?

089

The always amazing Amanda

082

Pretty sure I was drunk at this point. Food coma.

081

Those are the highlights. There were so much more and perhaps Amanda will post some of her favorites. A couple people mentioned that not enough food blogs have a male perspective. So I hope to give one. Furthermore, I have to say the whole weekend was inspiring. It is really pretty sweet being a part(even a super small part) of a community full of really sweet, awesome, and interesting people. The food was inspiring, the city was inspiring, and everyone we met(and even some we didn't!) are inspiring. So now I am taking a less behind the scenes role in this and a more up front role. So I hope you don't mind. More to come(I KNOW RIGHT?)!

San Francisco Farmer's Market and Ferry Building

Why don't we live in San Francisco?

020

The Farmer's Market is so cool!

022

The second I saw butternut squash and brioche on a menu, I flipped. I knew exactly what I wanted for breakfast. I'm not usually into pancakes, french toast or waffles in the morning because I find them way too sweet and not nearly filling enough. But this, I made an exception for.

024

025

This breakfast stand worked quickly which was nice. I was starving after our olive oil taste testing. I should have had breakfast before!

026

027

Carmelized pears....swoon. Cinnamon whipped cream....heaven.

028

Andy got the breakfast sandwich. The best thing about boyfriends/husbands/significant others is sharing food. We split both breakfasts. (We could not finish mine, it was so rich!)

029

The roasted potatoes were my favorite.

032

And this dog. I asked the owner if I could take a picture. I realize that makes me a creep.

034

This is a picture of beef, you know in case you were wondering.

035

The fattest carrots. I wanted to buy one so bad!

036

037

039

Yes, you read that right. Andy wants a t-shirt.

040

Chocolate sample 1. (There were several throughout the day. Thank God for long walks!)

041

But who can resist this? Not I.

043

I purchased a mocha bar. which is my favorite bar in the world.

046

048

This really is a food lovers dream. I'm having a blast, Andy's having a blast and we will have to detox Sunday.
