I usually brown 1 lb lean beef with chili powder, corriander, cumin and pepper, then saute onions, carrots, celery, whatever else is in the fridge and throw it all in the crockpot with kidney beans, homemade pinto beans, a can of crushed tomatoes, 1/2C salsa and a more of the same seasonings. Let it cook all day and its sooo yummy to come home to! <br /><br />mmm I might make it this week! one can of diced ...things to make chili extra good:<br />one can of diced green chilies (they're in litte 4 oz cans in the hispanic foods section at the store usually)-adds in some spice, and flavor<br />lots of cumin<br />a little bit of chocolate (it adds a depth of flavor, it doesn't make your food taste like straight up dessert or anything)<br />a little bit of cinnamon (same as the chocolate, not going to make it taste like you baked cookies)<br /><br />i'm actually in the middle of making chili for dinner right now!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
